Negotiating for 320 w/1k Deposit

This is a great vehicle and I feel very lucky to have gotten some cash off just before the SoL event, but it is worth pretty close to what they're asking, IMHO.

No one knows what the best you can do is...make him an offer $1K over invoice and work up from there. Force him to counter.
Good luck and let us know how you make out.

I put a $1000 deposit on a Ducati back in November and it finally came in back in May. I knew the price (MSRP plus $900 freight/prep, then TTL)... when I arrived to pick it up, his "new" paperwork had the price about $250 more (he made freight/prep $1150). I KNEW he cold sell this bike within 10 minutes of me telling him to stick it, so I sucked it up and bought it anyway. It wasn't the $$, but that he decided to increase it a tad and he's already getting MSRP plus $900 to take it out of the box.
I heard of guys that put down $8,000 deposits on bikes, then decided against them and the dealers kept the $$$.. Atty's got involved and it turned out to be a "credit" at the dealer, but I've aways assumed a deposit to be non-refundable.
I worked mine then gave him a deposit. Otherwise, it may be understood you are buying at MSRP. If he gives you any BS, just tell him to put your deposit on another truck, but I'm betting he's sticking you with this one.

I did this when I got my GL 320 (have I mentioned lately that I love it and I am very glad to have ditched a loaded LX 470 with only 14K miles on it when I got the GL, but I digress...
...)Anyway, I drove their R class for almost three months while my GL was built. So I locked down the deal, ditched my LX, and put miles on their car while I waited.
I got a bit over two percent off sticker as well, but then I turned around and bought all the extra warranty stuff they pushed. So they did pretty well with me.
If you can knock two percent off, you will be doing well.
Next time, don't give them cash until you've done the deed.
No matter how much you pay, you'll love your GL.
Congrats!!!
