This bluetooth compatibility is bummin me out
I've got a Sprint Treo 755, I'm finding out thats not going to work in my GL.
I haven't been able to confirm yet whether or not this phone will work (part of it might).. and MB says they don't support it.
If I wasn't sitting on 3 Sprint Contracts right now, I'd probably move to an iPhone over at AT&T, but they aren't allowing corp accounts for the iPhone for some damn reason.
So.... I'm taking delivery of my GL tomorrow and probably won't be able to use the phone with the truck. I'm bummed.

I'm with you. I got a Razr V3xx, which, as it turns out, isn't approved with the MB BT module, and sure enough, it wouldn't download the phonebook or function with most any other feature. I could make calls, but that was it.
I downgraded my phone to an older version (V3i) and it has full compatibility. (the V3i is listed with MB as compatible)
The crazy thing, my '05 645 worked like a charm with either phone via BT!
If you want full function, make sure you choose one of the few MB Wireless lists as compatible. Oh yeah, add one more to my "GL negatives" list.

Second, I wouldn't switch to AT&T if they gave me the top of the line iPhone and 100 hours' worth of music downloads for free. They're consistently the worst performer when it comes to cell phone service.
I've been a loyal Verizon customer because of the network service level rating, despite the fact that their customer service can be sub-par and they tend to cripple the equipment they sell, but the latest ratings actually put T-Mobile and Alltel one below and one above (with Alltel having the same score as) Verizon in the Phoenix market. Considering our occasional trips to Yerrup, I might consider switching to T-Mobile (who uses the same system as they do overseas) to ease temporary use over there.
Also make sure you've got the latest version of the bluetooth adapter.

I'm not trying to make this a "carrier debate" yet.. lol. I worked in wireless for 16 years and they all suck in one form or another.
Id rather not switch providers (3 cancellations = $750)... its just my luck my phonebook wont work. I need to go to MB and ask them if I can try a puck and if the phonebook works I'll know. MB's price (I was quoted from my dealer) was $575 for the puck. Thats too much to pay to not get use of all the features.

Rider - you can buy the puck on eBay for around 400 or so and even wireless4mbcom will sell it for "sticker" of 450 or so. 575 is highway robbery. I would also recommend what you are thinking in that try the puck and if your phone works, buy it. Like others, I am also pretty certain that at least handsfree will work via BT and that is worth the price.

Isn't there a 'newer' bluetooth module and an 'older' module. I've read on a couple of other posts that the older one didn't support as many features / functions.
Any way to tell which would be the newer module? Any specific build date or software revision on the puck (some on eBay have pictures which will show the information sticker on the box the module comes in). Thanks!

Thanks Jack,
The official M-B authorized site AWS (www.wireless4mb.com) lists the Bluetooth Puck as model # B67875878, as I noted above. I checked that site before I bought the unit.

Thanks Nevada Jack and N'AWLINS - I found the site and got the info - and missed where you had already listed the part number for the latest module.
Now, how can I get my passenger window to tilt when in reverse (kidding!)...
