Is something wrong with my sunroof??

Is everybody else's roof the same?

When retracting my sunroof i notice that theres about a good 5 inch's that remains unused(non-retracted)?? and also if you push on the sunshade it will go past this 5 inch area flush into the roof liner except for the sunroof.

Anybody else??
should it retract more??

Mine works exactly as you describe. I too wondered if it was normal when I first opened my sunroof. I suspect that it's just the way the sunroof works.

In my s80 when you opened the roof it would auto stop about 5-7 inches short as well. But then you could push the button again to make it open all the way. What I found was that when driving at 65 mph, the all the way open position would suck in too much air and become very loud. But when reset back to the first position, the air flow was much better and quieter. So my thought is that MB has it open to the optimum location for proper airflow & sound control.

Mine goes back all the way actually...JOKING! It does the same thing as everyone else's.

Wonder if there's a code to get rid of this
