LV Meet Addendum

BeanCounter and NevadaJack had a meeting at BJ's today to discuss the status of the GL forum. Our analysis and final report is that this is one great group...

Here are a couple of pics and BeanCounter will be adding a couple showing me in front of the SUV's of the Century...

I will post some pics tonight when I get home, but this message will confirm that NevadaJack does exist and that he actually has a GL550 (and a kick *** one at that). All was going well at lunch until he pulled out that axe that everyone has been talking about. I guess I am lucky I made it out of there alive.........

Glad you guys got to hook up and at BJ's no less!

BeanCounter... Did you take NJ on STP's off-roading adventure trail?

No, this was strictly an on road adventure.

STP... sounds like an adventure waiting to happen! Do you think NJ's 550 could pull that maneuver off?

No doubt the GL550 could pull this off (not familiar with STP route) but whether NJ could pull it off is another story...:-)

Yeah Jen...was a nice lunch with a nice guy. We talked boats as well as cars.

BTW, I mentioned to Jeff that I meant to ask Jen how her stay at the Red Rock was. Would you recommend it to your friends?

Jeff - I don't think you meet the real NJ. He uses a chain saw

Glad to see more pics, as always.

Most definitely! The room & service was outstanding. Didn't get to experience the pool or the spa, but I'll definitely stay there again. Very nice touches in the room, such as when you touch the "do not disturb" button, it lights up a "do not disturb" sign outside the door and de-activates the doorbell to the room. Also, the rooms are set back off the main hallway which makes for a quieter room.

small world!

I have question for BeanCounter: Were you at the Bass Pro Shop on Oct 6th? I spotted GL450 in the parking lot and swear it was yours! The best I remember after a long weekend in LV

Here are my pics. The last one is of our leader NevadaJack standing behind his beautiful GL550. Nish, what actually happened is that BJ's would not let him inside with the chainsaw, only the axe, so he had to leave it in the car...........

Probably was me although I can't remember for sure. I live about three miles south of Bass Pro Shops and my kids (and me too) love to go in there and check things out. I probably go there about once a month, but went there quite a few times in October because my parents were in town for a week and a buddy of mine came out as well. Do you live in the area or were you just visiting?

I live just west of Bakersfield and was in town for the weekend. I'm about 99% sure it was your your GL. I took a nice long look at it and ordered mine the next week. I took a few trips to Santa Barbara and LA but couldn't find "THE PERFECT GL" so I ordered one. I have no kids at home so ZERO need for the DVD player and didn't want all the temptation of the 550. But I just had to have the Illuminated door sills. I have a bit of Henry Ford in me, any color as long as it's Black! so Now I wait unit late Dec!

The more I think about it, it probably was me that day. Best of luck on your GL when it arrives. I am sure you will love it. In my opinion, the GL's are the best SUV's out there.........

Thanks Jen...I might have to spend a night there just to enjoy the ambiance of the place. The Seafood Bar and the machines is about all I see when I go there...:-)

I tweaked Jeff's image of me at BJ's...the sun was right in out eyes so it was difficult getting a good angle. The little black box on my belt is the remote for the chain saw...

I saw that little thing in the original picture and was too afraid to ask. I thought you might have upgraded your greeting device to a detonator.
