Wal-Mart (Murphy) deisel

A stop for fuel for my CDI at the Murphy gas station in Wake Forest, NC provided a rude awakening-500 ppm low sulphur deisel, not the 15 ppm ultra-low sulphur. There was a warning sign on the pump that the fuel was not for 2007 and later vehicles. I am surprised Wal-Mart is still selling the old type.

join the club.... I'm in South Texas (the world capital of diesel as far as I'm concerned)... its hard to find 15 ppm down here. TONS of stores still have the 500PPM stickers up. MY guess is they are selling 15PPM, but dont know the stickers need to be changed.

I asked a girl working at a Valero station near my house, she said they wouldn't have it for 2 months. Valero is one of the biggest refineries around.

who knows.

The Wal-Mart/Murphy in far NW Illinois (Galena) has had 15 ppm for many months now.

I wish I had a Murphy near my home in NE IL. Diesel is about $3.50/gallon here. I paid $3.18 in Galena last weekend. And $3.03 a couple weeks earlier.

What's funny is that MB can't sell CDIs in CA but every gas station here has ULSD.

We have had no issues finding ULSD in MN.. .. as a matter of fact anyone carrying diesel in MN is required to carry ULSD.

CARB required ULSD at all commercial stations by 2007. Only some truckstops and the semi-private stations still carry the older LSD. Even with ULSD, the current CDI engine does not meet the CA requirements (now implemented in 7 states), hence the requirment for the absorbent exhaust system in 2009 vehicles. BTW I understand MB is allowing limited lease of 100 of these 320 Bluetec vehicles in CA as a test case for the annual recall program to change out the canister.
