I installed them and think they are OK...not 100% sure I would do it again. But I'm sure they will be easy to remove should the time come and heck for $39 ( I think ? ) not much of a investment to see if you like them or not!

Anyone know if you can buy these covers al-la-carte?
I just realized that the trunk latch/release will be the only switch remaining in black. Maybe I'm nuts, but doesn't it seem of out of place to have it remain black when it's so similar to the other door switches?

For those interested, I spoke with Jerry at formymercedes.com about the lack of a chrome switch-plate cover for the power liftgate switch. At his request, I have sent him a couple of digital pictures of this switch. He said he will communicate with his supplier to see about getting a chrome cover for this switch. Stay tuned.

Chicky, I don't have them installed yet but you should be able to figure it out yourself. The overlays must be sitting on a "lip" or something and therefore not letting the switch be depressed far enough to get to the "auto" click.
Check the plates and re-seat them if need be. If you've tried reseating them and pressing them down firmly, to no avail, you may need heat them up with a hair dryer, remove, and start over (if that happens you might require more adhesive tape.....).
Keep us posted.

Ok...here's the deal:
This morning I tested the window switches. 2 windows on the 4 switch driver panel still won't auto up. I can feel the pressure point and the switch is going past it to indicate I am pulling up on the switch far enough up to activate auto up.
Later on in the day: I look at the switch cover. It doesn't interfere with the switches AT ALL. I am getting confused.
This evening on the way home: I test the windows again and they are all working fine.
I guess I have gremlins in my car.
Nobody listen to me anymore. I obviously have no idea what I'm doing. sigh.

Hey Chicky, did you figure out the auto up on your window switches yet? I was driving home today, it's snowing hard here today, and notice my auto-up on the drivers side window wasn't working. The other windows were all working.
I haven't ordered the chrome overlays, but I intend to.

It was not the chrome switch covers that caused the auto up not to work....because they are working now...and I still have the covers on.
It was super cold the day they weren't working...so?? Something else is (was) causing it. On both our vehicles!

I think we're on to something. Mine is working again too. It wasn't working on the way home one evening after work (dark and cold, but wasn't snowing). I tried it the next day and it was working fine. It was warmer, although warm is relative these days in Minnesota
Today is a gorgeous sunny day and 18 degrees!
