Chrome Switch Plate Installed Pics

The package contains the main switch plate and also 3 additional plates that cover the passenger and two rear window controls. All are applied with tape and the fit is perfect. Took about 5 minutes. You may note some lint from the little pad I used to make sure tape was fully attached to the plastic. I think they look great...so give Jerry a call and get some chrome on that GL...

You guys know how I feel about chrome on black - I think it's the best way to go if you're going to even do chrome. So for my macadamia colored interior, I won't do chrome. On your black interior? Trés classy!

I tell you Steve, it really changes the interior look. Almost all the switches, dials, etc. have a chrome outline, whether it be brushed or shiny. When I look at it I say to myself it should have been chrome from the design phase. I think it would look great on mac or ash...it just seems to complete the detail effect.

Agree! They also should have pushed the Burl surround to the command/nav console. With the charcoal interior the contrast is not so great, but with ash and mac it could really use some help. Anyone know of a burl plate to replace the current charcoal plate on the nav console?

www.formymercedes.com $34 I think it was plus shipping.

Jerry owns the business and does a great job filling orders.

Very nice Jack - I was originally concerned about the difference of the brushed chrome vs shiny chrome, but with door handle latch just above in shiny chrome, it looks great.

Looks like the quality is very good. Nice fit.

I'm so excited...thanks to Jack's excellent photos and recommend, I just ordered the switch plate covers.

Oh, and I threw in a set of the hood fins just for good measure.

I love chrome....

Both of them add to the total package the GL portrays. Not ostentatious and just goes with the rest of the truck. You will love the look Chicky...!

Those look great, NJ! I was under the impression that they would be of a lesser quality, but those look awesome.
I'm kinda with STP on this one, not sure how it would look with a macadamia interior. For sure, they go great with black.

You're going to have to chrome those 21" AMG's now.

NJ, well done. Thanks for being the pioneer (sounds better than guinea pig!). I received mine a couple of days ago and they look GREAT in my garage, can't wait to see them on the GL. LOL.

Can you confirm the installation, did they just lay over the existing switchplate? Thanks.

Never happen Brian...I don't think you can improve upon the AMG design. Just enough polished alloy (or chrome?) on the setback to give it some bling.

Add a set and see how nice it finishes the door off, especially when it is opened.

Yes Patsy...just remove the tape and they fit perfectly. I use tweezers to remove the red tape covering before placing them on the plastic. Very easy.

Chicky...make sure you order the $99 set of fins and not the $44 dollar ones. The $99 are made by Schaetz Tuning in Germany and are fitted to each plastic fin. The cheaper set are all the same size and the tape layout is only one strip in the center while the Schaetz set have tape on both sides.

Yes, I did....thank you!

I'll post photos when I get my wheels chromed...you may like it more than you think!

There's a green 450 in town with the stock wheels chromed and it looks so, so nice!

I am...I admit...a shiney wheel gal.

If I had the 18" or 19" I would be in the chrome mode but not with these AMG rims. They are just so well done and do not detract from the overall effect of the GL as a classy package.

I know chrome wheels are popular and they look great but when I see a SUV with their big 21' and up chrome wheels, that is all I see. I am anxious to see some pics of them though. But these look pretty perfect to me..

I would agree with you if I thought the wheels were too big for the rig...ie putting 24s on an Escalade. You're right, all you see is wheel.

But I don't think the 21s are too big and fit the truck very well. We'll see if I feel the same after they're chromed...but I think I will!
