Update, less than 2 months later the oil leak has returned.

Bringing back to dealer tomorrow.

I had seen this post in December and had "stayed tuned" hoping that you might post an update regarding what the issue was and how it was fixed... Bummer

So, would you care to share what the trouble was and how it was fixed for both cases?

Sorry Danno4x4, must have forgotten about this until it started to leak again.

But hear this, the SA told us yesterday that the reason why it was leaking again is because they never fixed it the last time. They got confused when they replaced my brake pads and thought the job was completed. (btw, after the third complaint about squeaky brakes, they finally replaced all 4 pads. there should be a service campaign for it)

Now why it stopped leaking after we got the GL back the first time is unknown. The culprit is the left valve plug being defective.

Hopefully they actually replaced the plug this time

Glad that mechanic is not a doctor!

Thanks for the input... Kinda frustrating when you ask them to do something and it doesn't get done.

What in the heck is a left valve plug... Seriously, I am fairly mechanical and work on cars in my spare time... Never heard of a left valve plug.

My leak was actually coming from a partially disconnected turbocharger hose... It was not much oil, but just enough was coming from the PCV inlet just before the turbocharger to allow it to leak down the hose and out.

Taken from work order:
"Check and found the oil leak at left rear side value cover plug"

Here's the part# 000-997-78-20
