The thing about that with a 320 is the turbulent low pressure area behind the car draws up the diesel exhaust as is and that coats the rear of the car. A hood would only eliminate a little of the problem and potentially block some of the view if the camera's got a wide-angle lens on it. In fact, it could possibly worsen the problem of accumulation on the lens by providing a focused area (no pun intended) of low pressure and still air for the dirt to accumulate! It's all different when the camera's on the back of the car.

GL is in the shop for camera installation
Today GL will be going to the shop for the rear view camera installation. He will unlock the DVD feature for the navigation screen as well. Will post picture and performance results after installation.

Above link is pdf file from the www.Nav-tv.com. The harness has a video input which would be connected from the rear DVD entertainment system to play on the command screen. I am crossing my fingers and hope the installation goes all well.
