MB vs. Weathertech floor liners
Has anyone seen both? Which is better?
Would the tan even come close to matching a macadamia interior?
Thanks

fully agree with JDT1s post above, macadamia interior as well. I have the MB all weather rubber mats for all 3 rows (thrown in by dealer) in tan but quickly realized I needed the liners. Purchased the MB liners for front and 2nd row (were $5 more that the weathertech but nice to have the MB logo in the cabin) and then purchased the 3rd row liner and cargo mat directly from weathertech. Put to use this weekend on a ski trip and worked very well with the exception of the 2nd row middle hump which is still uncovered. I used a rug as a band aid for the trip but still working on a permanent solution – might try the Husky (brand) matt under the liners, have seen a picture at autosportcatalog.com and looks like it covers the hump. Some on the board have purchased a piece of clear plastic rug protector from home depot and cut to fit over the hump.

pics of liners & cargo mat
attached are a few pictures of the liners and cargo mat
1) front MB liner (made by weathertech) 2)MB liners in second row 3) half of the weathertech cargo mat (it comes in 2 pieces for when the 3rd row seats are up or down)
the black piece in the last picture is from MB not sure of name but its what dealer threw in when I asked for a trunk liner, only covers area behind 3rd row.
I received the third row mat from weathertech today but have no pictures yet, it does cover middle hump in the third row, not sure why they do not make the second row mat the same way. hope this helps.

Good pics, fmr. Looks like my interior exactly. As you stated in your first post to this thread, I am one who did purchase from Home Depot, a clear carpet liner (little carpet grips do show) and cut it to size to cover the hump. Although it doesn't really grip that well, it's also held in place by the liner and provides acceptable protection for the second row hump.

I also have the full weathertech/MB liners for the front, 2nd, 3rd, and cargo area. They work great except for the 2nd row. As mentioned, they don't cover the hump. I'm also finding that they don't stay in place. Whenever an adult rides in the second row, the liners easily get kicked forward. I keep checking weathertech for a replacement.

nish....thanks for the tip, I'll try it. Also, as 85mm said, I too have noticed that the second row liners do seem to move around when people get in or out of the vehicle. Perhaps the velcro idea will solve this problem as well.

my 2nd row mats move forward as well so will try the velcro. visited home depot for the clear plastic rug protector for the center hump but this particular HD no longer carried it, will have to try elsewhere.

Try Lowes. They had it in my area, too. Usually you can buy it by the foot or buy a 6 ft roll which is all they had at the time. Not that expensive. If you can't find any, let me know and I'll cut off a piece from my roll and send it to you.

Just got my STAR magazine and noticed an ad from Weathertech. It has a photo of what looks like an over the hump one piece liner for the second row in a GL or ML. Called them this morning but they said their second row liners are two pieces... Darn!

Just noticed that too in my latest Autoweek mag. It clearly shows a white GL450 with tan floor liners with a one piece second row. Website still shows two pieces. I would not recommend the two piece set for the second row. They get kicked forward all the time unlike the front row. Rear cargo is also great.

They actually advertise 'over the hump' liners and the third row goes over the hump. Really odd that the second row doesn't go over the hump.

I just spoke with a company rep at MacNeil Automotive (800-441-6287) who manufactures the Weathertech products (weathertech.com). Currently, there are no plans to create a one-piece, over the hump liner for the 2nd row of the GL vehicles. I was told that if enough people requested such a product by filling out the short "product request form" found on their website under customer care, their engineers would definitely look into it. I also don't understand why the 3rd row liner covers that hump, but not the 2nd row liner. That's life, I guess. I urge all of you to do this simple exercise of filling out this online form. Took me all of two minutes, if that. Thanks.
