Fuel economy calculator
Here is a great fuel economy calculator that lets you compare all the vehicles on the market side by side. You can plug in and personalize the cost of gas and diesel in your neck of the woods, driving style, driving patterns and mileage. Using your own personalize numbers it will show you how much it will cost per year for your vehicle. Its fun to compare different vehicle manufacturer and gas vs diesel savings. This website is made by the EPA and uses the new revised mileage estimate numbers so they are pretty accurate. The new 5.7L engine from Toyota for the Sequoia premium, Land Cruiser and LX570 all yeild the exact same mileage as the GL 550.
Plugging my local premium gas (3.15) vs diesel fuel (3.55), driving 11k miles per year, 55% city and 45% highway gives the following numbers:
GL 550 vs GL 320 shows that I would save 522.00 dollars in fuel per year or 43.50 per month going with the GL 320.
GL 450 vs GL 320 I would save 357.00 per year or 29.75 per month going with the GL 320.
GL 550 vs GL 450 I would save 165.00 per year or 13.75 per month going with the GL 450.
