Puck Question
OK, this may be a dumb question, but bear with me. I have the Bluetooth puck which I use with my Motorola Krazr phone. What happens when you're on the phone using the Bluetooth and you want to exit the vehicle, yet remain on the call? The Bluetooth doesn't disconnect for about 30 feet, yet when you exit the vehicle, you're still connected via Bluetooth & can't talk to the person.
I had this happen yesterday. My Mom called as I was on my way to the market. I sat in the parking lot talking to her for a while, then it got too cold, so I wanted to go into the store. I told her I had to call her back, so I ended the call, walked into the store & then called her back.
Is there an easier way to do this or do you just disconnect the call & call the person back if you are exiting the vehicle?

I have the same issue - no automatic transfer back to the phone when you turn off car and walk away. First time it happened was kind of funny as it sounded like car was talking to me... If your phone allows you should turn off the hands-free mode before you exit the car. I use the AT&T Tilt Windows Mobile Phone and this is pretty easy to do when you are on call. Call goes back to phone and you can then exit car.

You might try and see if your phone has a similar feature.

Thanks Slim & STP...I'll have to check out the phone (fairly new to me as well) and see if there's something like that. I'm sure there is & I just haven't found it yet.
Jen - while on a call, go in to your Menu for phone and you should see an option for activating handset or such which should transfer the call to your phone. I use this on my Blackberry all the time. If you don't have any luck, remind me when you see me and I will help.

Another solution is to push and hold the "Tel" button on the Nav system before exiting the car. It will disconnect the bluetooth and return control to the handset. Just be sure to turn off the car right away because it may try to reconnect after a delay.

The thing about that with my phone is, even after a couple of minutes with the car off my phone still thinks it's connected to the bluetooth system. It's tremendously annoying when someone calls me just as I get out of the car as I have to answer the phone and quickly hit the option button, scroll down and select "Use Phone."
All this lovely technology. On Star Trek (TNG & later), the communicator buttons on their shirts knew exactly who they were calling and when they were done talking. Plus no long distance or galactic roaming charges! Now that's what I want!
