Exhaust and tune and brakes?

Does anyone know where to get aftermarket Exhaust system that will make the GL550 sound like a CLK63 AMG Blackseries or similiar amg models... like an free flowing exhaust, not too extreme or ghetto, and also who makes ECU maps, chips for gl550, renntech?,Brabus?,Kleemann?,Carlsson?

I Really want a Brembo big brake kit, i saw on www.importrp.com but they only have front, i dont know if the rear is worth it anyway,

as for exhaust, i have no idea who produces one for the gl550

and ECU, again no idea.

please help me on these 3 subjects, sorry for taking your time, thank you!

You can try Carlsson:

Brabus makes a Sports Exhaust for the GL550 (X164-670-00- BRABUS sports exhaust for 6- and 8-cylinder, GL 450; GL 500; GL 320 CDI and GL 420 CDI
consists of: 1x rear silencer left, 1 x rear silencer right with 4 slanted tailpipes, ø 76 mm) . There is a great post here on it: https://mbworld.org/forums/gl-class-x164/226166-gl550-brabus-exhaust-new-carlsson-lowering-module-pix.html

Brabus also makes a lowering module for the 550, like Carlsson (164-106-00-BRABUS suspension module for lowering)

. I am getting both installed tomorrow. Maybe I will finally post some pics!! Seems like my 550 is always in the shop getting mods.

I was quoted $8k+$1500 install for a Brabus brake kit (cross-drilled/slotted rotors, calipers, steel lines, reservoir, etc.) but I thought that was too expensive. I'll wait six months and see if I can just buy the rotors.

I can't seem to find a chip yet. Brabus doesn't have one. There is one outfit I am talking to that is going to let me know if they can reporgram the computer. They mostly do Posrshe/Audi but are looking into the GL550. I'll keep you posted.

I think that within a year's time there will be many more options.

I'll post results.

I dont know if you already know this but the Brabus module is way different than the Carlsson. For one its not adjustable and it will not give you much of a drop as compared to the Carlsson and it is not plug and play it has to be soldered on. That being said I am not recommending the Carlsson since it gave me problems. I have had the Brabus on my CL65 and E55 and both times I eventually did lowering links instead because the drop was barely noticeable. I think you should do the lowering link method instead (that is what i have on my GL now), it is cheaper (about $300 installed) and you can choose exactly how much of a drop you want.

I wish I would have known that because I already ordered the part and I don't think it's returnable. I will still check into it though. Thanks for the heads-up.
