Extremely pleased to say the least. The power heading up the mountains is incredible.

My next Gl will probably be a GL550, there will always be a demand for a faster Mercedes in the garage!

Boy... that certainly is the truth!!!

lwain, I realize we both have the gasoline engine, but could you imagine if the 420 ever came here with that combination of horsepower and torque?

Folks, I know, I know... the 420 isn't coming to our shores and I understand the reasons for that. However, I'm just saying...

Brian, you mean the US is not going to see the 420 CDI! What a bunch of bull that is....LOL

Iwain: I cannot say enough about the GL550! It is really a great ride and as Stumble says, the power is amazing. I truly enjoy driving the GL more than I did my S550 and that I thought I would never say. The '09 model will be even sweeter with the changes they are making.

You be careful, you're going the right way for a smacked bottom!

I guess your drive in the 320 really did impress you, eh?

There are rumours that both MB and BMW will stop making the V8 diesels, due to pollution and fuel consumption. Instead they will add more turbo chargers to the 6 cylinder cars. Hope they've got their hoses right :-) ref. the recent problems with the turbo charger hoses on the GL320CDI.
