Yes I got the Perma Plate when I bought the car. Nish, Perma Plate is a fancy wax/sealant for the exterior and a fancy Scotchguard/protectant for the interior. You can get either the exterior or the interior or both. When I got mine the dealer's initial quote was $1,000 and I laughed. 5 minutes later the initial quote was cut in half. I got it because I have small kids and Perma Plate guarantees that spills and whatnot will not stain your car and if it does they will replace the affected area. Is it worth it? That's up for debate but I have not had a problem with anything staining the exterior or interior and they give you a nice package of interior treatment and wax to reapply the product. I am pretty sure you need to reapply it at least once a year or something like that to keep the Perma Plate warranty going. Hope that helps.......

I guess you had it done at Fletcher Jones. They have stopped the perma plate and are offering Xzilon.

Warranty for Xzilon is 5 years on new cars. They told me that its superior to permaplate but I'm not sure how much of that is true. I did get the Xzilon. Only time will tell if its worth the money.

I am getting the exterior and interior package for $500 at House of Imports on my GL450. Maybe it's worth it and maybe it's not but a good detail for an SUV runs from $300 to $400.00 and comes with no warranty at all. I am thinking I don't have too much to loose if I give it a try...
