How many miles fron Continental's

Mine are at almost 12,000 and they were already showing signs of degraded snow performance around 10,000. I'm going to replace them before the snow flies next winter, when they'll probably be around 16K-17K. Assuming they last that long.
The Continentals on my SLK350 were down to the wear bars in 17K miles. Different car and different tires, I know, but this seems to be a trend with Conti tires.

20" Michelin Diamtris with 18K and plenty of tread, will probably change anyway at 25K. My heavy driving in turns will require more rubber... the damn thing handles like my 2002 S-500 and I tend to drive it aggressively.

We're talking apples/oranges unless we specify which wheel size.
The following ...
... describes exactly where I'm at with my 18s.
There are only two MO-spec tires in this size in any event, and I'll replace mine with Michelins on general principle when the time comes.
At the highest level of automotive performance--which describes any Mercedes including the GL--tire mileage should be a last consideration.

I had that wear problem with Continentals on my MB 220S, and on my Porsche. Ended up replacing all with Michelins and no more excessive wear problem. Ride was softer with Continentals though.
I am spoiled now as I get 60,000 to 70,000 on my truck tires (Michelins)
Drive 20-30k per yr.

I have 11,500 on my Conti's and they are starting to look beat. I doubt I'll get 20K out of them...
Going to try the Michelins next and see how they do.
I need to stop driving my GL320 like I drive the cars in Grand Theft Auto IV

Nish: You are correct - I was having a hard time getting the 320 to slide around the corners at all and can see where the 550 would do this without a problem. Now all I have to do is go 'jack' a 550 and take it out for a ride!

You guys are scaring me here with your tire mileage.
Now, I have the 18" Dunlops on my 450 and they have 22K on them and look fine. I guess I don't play GTA enough! Guess I drive like the girl I am

A quick shot of Jen and the Grape Hog (well, that's the plate - GR8P HOG) at Cliff Castle Casino in Camp Verde today (at an attempted lunch meet, thank you very much to some jerk in a lumber truck who spilled all over I-17 about 10 miles north of us, delaying Jen).

I know we've seen you ridin' before, but must say, that is one sweet bike you have there Jen!
Do you wear that helmet when driving your GL? I think you should, just to freek everyone out on the California freeways.
BTW... if the GL ever ends up on the Grand Theft Auto game, you'll have to wear the helmet when playing too.
Lastly, where do you put Alan on the bike?
Ahhhhhh... it's good to be back on the forum.

Had a great weekend and put about 1,200 miles on my bike over the 4 days. Oh, we did drive the GL today to go pick up the dogs from the kennel.

Mine had 13,000 on them when the wear bars were even with the tread. I complained to the dealer and they went 50/50 with me for a new set of four.
The ride I get with the Contacs is smooth as silk. 32PSI front, 35 PSI rear.
