Clock on Nav screen for 2007 GL

Since the 2007 GL did not have a clock in the Nav console, during the service visit I asked my service manager if this was at all possible to get it.

He promised that he will get back to me after asking his tech. Today I received an email from him telling me that yes this is possible by re-programming the Nav/clock.

I will be getting it done during the next service visit and will provide an update.

BTW, I am very happy with this dealership in NJ. So far 0 issues with service or anything I requested. I had to only ask once for Reverse mirror tilt and squeeky brake fix and it was all taken care of without me asking it twice !!
They also send you a loaner and drop off your car once the service is done.

I don't want to sound like I am somehow associated with them but if anyone is interested in dealing with them, I can happly provide the dealership name.

GLD,

Did they show you how to get the reverse mirror tilt?

I think there was a thread discussing this that suggested this feature is only able to be activated for US MY07 and Canadian models.

Cool, let us know how the reprogram goes.

I am Father Time in the GL since nobody can see the clock but the driver.

That's funny and I am Father Time too.

Literally, my 9-year old just complained to me Wednesday night that she can't see either clock from her seat in the 2nd row and it bothers her.

Personally, I never thought a 9-year old worried about time. Guess I grew up in a different age when time never mattered.

From this point forward, the 9-year old is banned from reading all posts from Oknish. That's the last thing I need Nish... you supporting her lobbying efforts for a cell phone.

We watched a nearly 20 year old movie last weekend, "Honey I Shrunk the Kids". For those of you who don't remember the movie, the opening scene has the oldest daughter talking on the telephone while fixing her little brother and father breakfast. Here is the exchange between me and my daughter.

My Daughter: Why does the phone have such a long cord Dad?

Me: So she can walk around the kitchen and still talk on the phone.

My Daughter: Why doesn't she use a cordless phone?

Me: Because in that day and age a cordless phone cost about as much as a Mercedes.

My Daughter: That's not so much.

This all came from the same girl who last night stated she needed a new video game that costs about $30. When I told her she could get it with her own money, the reply was instanteous... "That's a lot of money Dad."

Money... it's all a matter of perspective; is it yours or someone else's?

And, funny how the perspective changes when it comes to making it or spending it

ABSOLUTELY!!!

However, Nish is nowhere near your league. I'll buy my daughter 10 cell phones including the voice/data packages before I ever let you meet my wife.

BTW... 20 year anniversary was last week and I thought I got off cheap with just a lunch. That was until this morning.

Last night I brought home a really nice/new 60 degree lob wedge. This morning she proceeded to take my GL to go shopping. As she pulled out of the garage she smiled and said, "I won't be back in time to pick up T from school. Be sure you get her and take her to gymnastics practice. Also, don't forget to feed the dog. I'll be home after dark."

You deserved this, buddy. It wasn't enough that you got the Wedge but, no, you had to tell her too. That should teach ya

Congratz on 20 years!! Lunch??? Dude, you didn't get off cheaply...she's got the 550 and a credit card. You should be very worried.

Well, a small blue box from Tiffany is easy to smuggle into the house, discretely concealed in a Coach handbag.

Equal pay...

My wife and I had an agreement (well, she set the parameters and I agreed) that every toy I brought home, she had an equal amount of the purchase price applied to her personal shopping list. Cars were always a joint decision so they were "off topic." She had it down to the penny and she always seemed to sense when her account was about to be supplemented... like a new "wedge" for the golf bag... Needless to say she had quite a jewelry cabinet and the closet was always full of "new stuff." But it worked well and whenever I said I needed (?) a new something, she always said "make sure you buy the best."

As a processor developer for the Xbox360, PS/3 and Wii I highly recommend the video game purchase!

You made the statement, then defined it perfectly. I checked with Websters. (Or, to quote the late Dick Martin, "Stick that in your Funk & Wagnalls!")

Still waiting for the report that clock on NAV screen has been accomplished.

I'm betting service advisor is mistaken this mod can be done.

Thanks to all of you for your wonderful help. I have yet to see what was purchased yesterday, but there are several shopping bags in her closet.

Thank goodness no little blue ones from Jen's favorite place that is visible to the naked eye.

Yeah, just wait a week or so...she'll be wearing it & claim she's had it "forever" and you've just never noticed
