Already debadged it. Ordered some Chrome Aerowings.
Trying to decide on the wheels, Iam thinking about possibly painting the centers black, or having them chromed. Or just leave them the way they are.

I'm sure others on the forum will agree that we'll definitely want to see pics of those wheels if you paint the centers black. That would be uniquely different than anybody else.
Enjoy tricking out the new GL!

I am hoping to drop the truck off next week. I will post pictures once its done.
The only other thing that is bothering me, is all the black plastic on the bottom of the bumpers. Especially on the rear one. Why did they not paint it?

I think the reason for the plastic is to provide a little protection to those of us who like to back into things, or get a little to close to high curbs when parking the beast. This way, we don't damage the sheet metal or paint job.
Just my $.02

That's interesting, because I never noticed it before. So, I just went out and took a look at mine.

With the Camera and Parktronic we plan on staying far enough away from all obsticles.
Here is my list of what I want to do.
Paint Centers on Wheels
Paint Bottom of Front Bumper
Paint Bottom of Rear Bumper
Paint & Install Mud Flaps
Paint Running Boards
Smoke Lights in Rear View Mirrors
Smoke Red Parts on Tail Lights
Smoke Lights in Rear Bumper
Smoke Third Brake Light
Paint Rear Wiper
Paint Front Grill Insert
Paint Hood Vents
Install Chrome Trim for Hood Vents
Install Chrome Door Locks
Install Chrome Switch Trim
I got most of my accessories from formymercedes.com. Great service and very fast shipping.

Congratz on the new 550! One of the forum members Mel (Love_my_GL) painted the lower plastic body & fender portions. On a dark colored car, you don't notice it as much, but on the lighter colors, the black plastic really stands out.
For the center of the wheels, I believe you can buy new center "stars" that have a background colored to match the color of the car. NJ...were you the one who has these?

I wish there was less of a gap between the fenders and the tires. No chance of lowering it. I almost hit my head on the tailgate when its open now.
Also, I think the wheels look too small, but tires are thin enough already and I don't really want to mess with the ride. I have been driving on some crappy roads lately and need something reliable.
I already have one car I hardly drive, because I don't want some valet to mess it up.
