Finally, Sales man tall me today can open container and make my GL550 into free trade zone, those photos sent from sales man

GL550 on inspection(each import Vehicles must be inspection)

 

I still waiting for sales man to apply China Customs Certificates of imported goods, Imports of vehicles test paper by General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the China, and Invoice.

after that, the dealer have to pay Import tariffs, Import value-added tax and Imports of consumption tax, from last week, I saw a news from Internet about Imports of consumption tax rate will increased from 82.8%(now) to 143.7%(since 1 July 2008)(> 4.0 L models), because Government want to Control of oil prices, fortunately My GL550's Customs Declearance is just in time, so I save a lot.Lucky

 

Fortunately, you do save a lot. That is one heck of a price increase.

All of those 550's in one place makes many of us on this forum drool.

Brian... it took less time to get his GL550 to China than it did to get ours to Colorado!!! They should rename the song "A Slow Train From Vance"

Oh my goodness. So many beautiful GLs all in one area. It looks like people prefer their Mercedes' in black in China, don't they?

thanks Stumblefoot, Verde Brook is a great color but it will be hard to Repair, because perhaps I am the first import this color, and Verde Brook is not on list of option in Chinese market. MB China not offer this color yet

 

Usually, order a SUV from MB system need 4-5 months in chinese market, they need produce time and delivery time, but this time I find a independent trade company(not a MB dealer in China) signed Contract with them, they contact a California MB dealer directly, the Mercedes-Benz California Dealer spend a few days find a GL550 outside CA, after that, I just need waiting for Shipping, so The truth is I save the produce time.

I really enjoy Jack's GL Pictures, not just about the Vehicle, also I can see how beautiful about US landscape, please keep upload more pictures on your digital albums

 

because those GL not import by Mercedes-Benz China system, all of those import by a small trade company, usually from order to sold out about three month, so those company usually import some color can easy to sold out, then they can get capital and profit back very quickly. dark color can suit everyone but red or white may be only interest by young people. so trade company do not want to risk import some color they do not know how long they can sold out.

and if customers want a different color they must order and wait for 3-4 months like me, and customers just need pay 30% for deposit, so this mean trade company can use those 30% to buy a vehicle and they do not worry about selling time.

sorry about my terrible English, I haven't speak English since 2002 when I graduate, almost forget it.

China is a big country like United States, so those dark GLs will sold out to many citys and you wouldn't see a lot dark car on road, actually, I think White and Silver is most popular color on street at North of China.

 

I do not like Black, and I already have Black Audi A6, Denim Blue Audi A4 and Silver Mercedes-Benz E-class, so this time I want to choose a different color, from Mercedes-Benz USA web Build your own system, I saw Verde Brook like a deep green, and I think SUV is kind of vehicles close to nature, green is nature color, so I choose Verde Brook because I think it is a green color, but after signed contrac, I saw Stumblefoot show me what is Verde Brook GL550 looks like then I understood that color not like green, but I can not change it at that time.
