Has anyone done a Service C lately on the GL? Is $700+ correct or has the price gone up even more.

is it just me or is MB very secretive about their servicing? First-time owner with only ~1800 miles on my '09 GL so far from needing service, but I sure do see a lot of questions about Services A,B,and C from folks asking what it costs and what exactly is done.

GL450 (Alabaster White/Black Interior)
My Service C was around $450. Service C includes oil/filter, wiper blades, rotate tires, cabin filters, brake fluid flush, and some other things I can't remember. I also had my engine air filter changed and rear brake pads done when they were doing it. Pretty pricey visit.............

Not that I actually trust SAs to know for sure, but mine said it involved which filters and/or fluids had to be replaced, based on either time, miles, sensors or some combination thereof (that last part being from memory, I forget what he said). So you might get a service A, then B, then C, then B, then B, then A, potentially. If I understood properly.

I think it is important to get a price up front and require approval for anything in addition to that. This eliminates any surprises.

oh gawd...
they are all glorified oil changes.
some include chassis lube, others include fuel filter change (on the gl320 this is very important as diesel fuel in the states is of very bad quality), and others include cabin filter change and lastly tire rotation.
so- do your oil/filter change and rotate tires every service, change your fuel filter as required, replace whenever you feel like the cabin filter and bring the truck to the dealer for the tranny oil change at the indicated mileage in the book.
regularly check brake pads or just wait for the wear indicator to light up. measure service thickness of rotors and if ok, replace brake pads (very easy). if not- replace rotors and pads (most likely not happening the first 50k miles anyway).
keep your receipts for all filters/oils you buy in case they are required for you to show maintenance has been completed.
reset service indicator through dashboard.
not very complicated.

For my 2007 GL 320, I believe that in addition to all the inspections, fluid level checks, chassis lube etc, the services generally refer to the following:
Service A is Oil Change plus Fuel Filter Change.
Service B is Oil Change
Service C is Oil Change plus Brake Fluid Change plus Trans Fluid and Filter Change.
Service A is Oil Change plus Fuel Filter Change.
Service B is Oil Change
Service C is Oil Change plus Brake Fluid Change plus Trans Fluid and Filter Change.
