Adding trailer hitch to GL550
Heah guys,
Sorry I've been MIA. Been busy setting up my new practice..
The GL550 continues to impress me and others of course..
My schedule A is coming up and I'm thinking of having the MB people add a trailer hitch when I bring it in. Wanna start carrying things off the bumper (ie bikes for excursions)
Anyone ever done this and know how much MB people will want ($$$) to add trailer hitch ... Too bad mine didn't come with it a delivery - it was $510 option then

Never could understand why hitches are not standard equipment on the GL like they are on the vast majority of American SUV's. I agree with Kent in that if I were a dealer I would not order one without a hitch. The worst thing that could happen is that the buyer doesn't use it............

Can you guys believe that MB will not install a tralier hitch now.. Dealer told me they are not installing new hitches since they are currently in the middle of a hitch recall.. He referred me to "uhaul" and said they probably could do it.. Can you believe that I was sold a 90K truck by MB (fancy people) and now they can't add a trailer hitch and are suggesting that I get Uhaul to help out.. MB is absurd.

U-Haul has no chance of getting the electrics correct.

All I'm saying is that big business screws up all the time.. They just ain't hungry enough.. You gotta coddle your customers and then get'em for every cent while they're smiling.. Seems like business 101 to me...
Oh well, maybe one day I 'll be big like MB and my company will pass up opportunities left and right since I won't be at the wheel running the operation..
