Hi guys, just thought i'd pop in to say hi to you all. I am on business in Kazakhstan right now, and wow, there is a nice fleet of vehicles out here. You see about anything driving out here in Astana (the Capital of Kazakhstan, where I am right now). Saw quite a few GL's out here, mostly 450's that come from the US. Also saw about three GL550's driving around. One is white, and the other two are black. I fell in love with the white GL550. Seeing it in person, I started wondering if I picked the right colour. Other than that it's mostly Lexus 470, Lexus 570 and Toyota Landcruisers that you see out here. Seems by far the most popular SUV out here, but I guess the road conditions is a good explanation for that choice, even though it's getting better. Anyway, thought I just drop by and say hi. Haven't been posting for a bit since I left end of May. Looking forward to my GL550 that is sitting in my garage, patiently waiting for me to return. August 5th is the date... yeah, pretty amazing how many nice SUVs you see over there. I always thought the Toyota Prado looks so much nicer than the Lexus we get over here.

I will be over in Tashkent, Kiev and/or Moscow shortly. Still gonna be around? we should grab a Pivo, if we wind up in the same town together...

 

hehehe...are you in the oil business by any chance? i am in Astana till the 28th, will go to Germany from here, before going to Kiev from the 30th of July till August 3rd. After that back to Germany and finally home on the 5th.... Very nice, a fellow Canadian traveling these areas. I travel out here quite a bit. Astana, Moscow, Kiev, and other parts of Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine... If you're in any of the above described areas at those times, pm me. We can hook up for a "Pivo" like you said.

 

Looks like I'm gonna just miss you in Kiev. As for the oil business, I'm from Calgary, so....

If I could do it all over I'd get white. I saw a white GL450 with the running boards at Safeway. Great looking truck.
