Lost Keys
What we do is, take the GL to work, and from work we have a chevy van to do all the running around in.
But luckily we had a spare set of keys at home to bring the gl back home..
How much would replacement keys cost, and is it possible to reprogram the keys so if anyone gets a hold of them at work they cant take the car.
If we watned to make it where the lost key wouldnt be able to be used, How much would that cost us..
And just getting a spare key, Any cheaper options?
i would order a new key.. then when you go into the dealer you will have the remaining key (that they will be able to read)... Then they can disable the key that is missing and sync the new key.... retail on the key is prob around 200 and figure a hour labor....
the only problem is the blade that was lost with your orignal key... that is the only thing that could be an issue... im having a moment? how many Key cylinders are in the truck? i think one on drivers door and one in the trunk... You would have to get them rekeyed to be 100% secure....
but as long as they disable the key via star the person that has the lont key wont be able to click the button by the truck to see if its the right key for the vehicle...
and from what i remember there is no way to read a key to see what vehicle it belongs to...
