I'm very happy for you. Persistence and the letters got them to realize you weren't going to lay down your sword.
Have you picked out the new ride yet?

Congrats.................It's good to hear that they are doing the right thing. I'm sure it did not hurt that you were documenting your process the whole way along on this website. You would be very surprised on how sites like this are monitored by dealers/manufacturers. I had a problem with a boat a few years back and vented my frustrations on a boating webiste. It got taken care of within 48 hours of my post after weeks of frustration with the dealer. Post pics of the new ride when you get it........

Beancounter-I hope they saw my posts It is smart of them to monitor these forums. Glad to hear you got your boat problems straightened out.
Jen-It is very nice knowing MBUSA will stand behind their products. That is the reason I will definitely buy a new one
I promise pics to follow as soon as I get the new one. They said the process can take 30-60 days. So it should be soon!!

I'm very happy for you. As an old friend of mine would say, "You're one tough broad!" Your husband must also be very proud of you. Good luck with your new truck.

glad to hear they finally came through.
curious... how are they doing your buyback? are they giving you all your money back or charging you for usage?
btw, you should remove some "extra" things from the lemon'd gl like the spare tire, rear cargo cover, some bulbs as spares, etc ;-)

Neodoc-Yeah, my hubby is pretty proud. He felt bad he wasn't home to deal with it for me. It feels really good doing this on my own

I'd say there was evidence of just the opposite. It appears they refused to do anything without fear of a lawsuit. Had they appeased without threats from a lawyer, I would say they were standing behind their products but that doesn't appear to be the case.

I never hired a lawyer. I wrote a letter and mailed it to MBUSA and the dealership. I was going to give them two weeks then let the lawyer I spoke with contact them. The dealership called me within a week of receiving the letter and said they would buy it back. No lawyer, just me I agree that I shouldn't of had to push so hard, but at least they did it.

A certified letter will get their attention. I think they knew that you had them. It seems you went through quite a bit to get their attention but I'm glad it worked for you.

The new ride is really great. Perfect size for me and such fun to drive. A different ride than the GL and S but one cannot complain if you know what I mean...:-) In short ... I love it.

Thank you! MB doing the "right thing" is the reason why I have no hesitation buying another one.
