Does anybody know whether 2009 GL450 comes with the chrome rear bumper plate (not the skid plate) that is stardard on GL550? Is this an accessory that you put afterwards or is it part of some package.

I believe it is a part of the "Appearance" package. It stated chrome accents. My dealer said this plate was included in that.

Chrome bumper plate is standard on 550. 450 now comes with a black plastic/rubber plate which can be removed and replaced with a chrome one. Details are posted elsewhere on the forum.

Mom - your dealer is making this up as usual Appearance package does not include the chrome bumper plate which sits on top of the bunker just below the lift gate (when closed).

It's funny you said that. I almost had my hubby talked into the 08 550 sitting on the lot. It was loaded with the exception of DVD. The dealer would of sold it to us for $74,000. The deal was lost when we ran the numbers on the '09 450 and they could do the deal for $11,000 less than the 550. O-well.

I had a similar question earlier today. My GL450 has the appearance package but it did not come with chrome bumper plate/insert.

Where can I get one? Through my dealer? What's the approximate part cost? $200? What about installation?
