Do run-flat tires require special wheels?

Just wondering if I would be able to use different 20" wheels with the factory runflats on our incoming GL320, or if the runflat tires require specific wheels. Anybody know?

If they come on 18"'s, I think you'd have to change to 20" run flats. But from what I've heard just the fact of them being run-flats doesn't require a special wheel.

No they do not require a specific wheel. The positive to the run-flats on the GL320 is b/c you do not have a spare tire (which im sure you already know). FYI, when run-flats were first introduced, they did require a certain type of wheel.

Hard to see anything positive about no spare tire.
