Memory Seats Upgrade
Perhaps someone could help me with this question or steer me in the right direction.
I've just picked up 07 GL450 that didn't come with memory for the seats and side mirrors. This drives my wife nuts since every time I use the car she has to readjust everything. Does anyone know if it's possible to add memory to the seats/mirrors? I assume that I would have to replace control panels on both front seats and get the ones with 1,2,3 buttons.
Does anyone have any experience?
Thank you,
Alex

Wow, that is weird. I would have thought that that was part of some big package in The States that everyone would have. Do you have a sunroof?
As with most things, I bet it can be done, question is price. From my experience in other cars, the best route would be to find seats and a computer from a wrecked GL, and a co-operative dealer that would do the programing. If not, it is likely cheaper to trade it in for one that has this feature if it is that important.

Yes, my car has the sunroof. I think sunroof was a part of another package. I know, it's 21st century and by this day and age memory seats should come standard. Especially when you are buying a $60,000 car. I have never seen such a rip off from MB.

Folks get the chance to buy a new car without the "memory" features if that's what they want.
It's part of the very often ordered P1 package otherwise.
It will be cheaper to trade for a GL that has the options desired.

I think the only way to get it without memory seats was to get one with no options. In other words, the base model GL450 back in 2007 was around $54,000 - $56,000. Do you just have the radio with no navigation?

140 - Launch Package: Borl Wood Trim
890 - Power Tailgate Open/Close
324 - Sunroof Pakage: Sunroof and Power Rear Quarter Windows.
The rest was 'standard' options. The radio doesn't have Navigation Drive, only CD. From what I have read I could add a separate drive that would give me navigation. The car comes with GPS antenna and has Compass function.
