2009 GL450 or wait for 2010?
Hello all!
I am new to this forum.
I am in the market for a new car,
And would really like a GL450,
but I don't know if I should wait for the 2010?
What are the differences between the 2009 and 2010 GL450 other than the foglamps and tailights?

Ignore some stupid answers here. Everytime you post questions about new model year, they get very offensive. Why? No idea. I think if you can wait for a few months, you should wait.

Looks like only some minor body updates but nothing major. Interior electronics got an overhaul in 09 so don't expect any changes there, especially, since the 09 gadgets are a big improvement. GL's body style has been favorably received too so don't expect too much tinkering with that.

The official press release from the NY Auto show in April is below along with a link w/ pics of the changes. I inquired about when in summer it would be available and heard it would be August. I decided to go ahead and purchase a 2009 given the minor tweaks plus the great 1.9% APR MB is offering right now.
"Entering its fourth model year, the 2010 Mercedes-Benz GL-class receives a minor refresh as it debuts at the 2009 New York auto show. All GL-class models—GL450, GL550, and GL350 BlueTec, which, along with all 2010 diesel-powered Mercedes in the U.S., are now badged as 350s instead of 320s—are treated to new bumpers, chrome front and rear skid plates, chrome tailpipes, and new aluminum-alloy rolling stock ranging from 19 to 21 inches. Additional bits include standard chrome roof rails, brushed aluminum beltline trim, and LED fog lights that double as daytime running lights. GL taillights are also now filled with LEDs as standard equipment.
Within the cabin, occupants will find redesigned seats complete with active headrests for the driver and front passenger, a new Nappa leather-covered steering wheel, and a new instrument cluster. Finally, GL350 BlueTec and GL450 customers are now treated to upscale burl walnut trim as standard.
After pounding out 40,000 miles with our long-term GL320 CDI, we welcome the small tweaks to an already terrific luxury SUV. Look for the 2010 GL to hit showrooms this summer."
