Titling Car in Massachusetts
Hello all,
Just bought a 2008 used GL 550 from out of state. I have to title and register the car in MA. Besides the normal 5% sales tax that I will have to pay.... does anyone know if there is some sort of luxury tax? Thanks

no.
but you need to insure the vehicle and get an rmv-1 form stamped by the insurance agent.
then you take the rmv-1 form to the rmv and pay sales tax + registration + plates.
then you have to take the vehicle to get it inspected.
later you get (in the mail) the excise tax which is an annual tax and is based on the value of the vehicle. expect to pay around $1000 the first year, then it will steeply decline.
