Bad news is, I'm required to be present on court date (an hour away) but have a family vacation planned that week out of state. I've asked if my court date can be moved up to a different week (or later), but for some reason they said the ticket isn't in their system yet. i've been calling for 10 days now. How long does it take for one to enter a ticket in the computer? I got the ticket on July 6th and my court date is August 26th..urgg!

Drove an hour to Arkadelphia, sat through 4 hours of traffic court, and got worried b/c on the phone the clerk said Civil Penalty applied if going 15 under and have a clean driving record (which I currently do).
Other speedsters that were seeing the judge, he as asking them if this was their FIRST SPEEDING TICKET (I would be shamelessly lying if I answered yes to that, although there are currently none on my record)..I've probably had 5 or 6 in my lifetime..
Anyway, when he called me up, he asked me "Is this the first ticket you've got here?", to which I truthfully answered yes. He then asked me if I wanted to keep it of my record and I said YES...
Still a pain in the *** compared to Little Rock (where they will throw the ticket out w/o even a court appearance or if you qualify for probation, you just mail your check in with a note requesting probation if you qualify).
not only did I have to appear in court, after signing a doc agreeing to probation, I had to go to anothe room and fill out all kinds of paperwork with a probation officer. I had to pay them $25 (on top of the $140 for ticket), AND I have to go to driving school in the next 90 days which also costs $35. THEN I have to drive BACK to Arkadelphia after 90 days to bring my driving school certificate and to sign that I havent received any additional tickets, AND pay *another* $25 to probation.
All in all, probably worth it to keep it off my record, but what a pain in the a$$.
