driving down hwy 1 for the first time
and will be hauling the family down from san jose to santa ana on thanksgiving day and figured i'd do the scenic route for the first time.
for those who have done it before, do you have any words of wisdom or any tips? things/places to avoid?

There will be slow motorhomes that you'll get stuck behind but just sit back & enjoy the view. Have a safe trip!
