Yes, I love inputting destinations with that wiggly joystick that goes right instead of down about 30% of the time, which requires me to move back to the letter I was trying to type and try again. A much better system than those pesky touchscreen systems that allow you to go directly to the category/letter you were trying to input.
Speaking of the fogs, is there a way to turn them on full-time with an 08? From the manual, it looks like the headlight switch is supposed to pull out or something similar, but mine does nothing but rotate.

The light turn on when the car start, and the leds turn off when you turn on the dipped beem (They will not dim to 30% like the stock DRLs as it can't control the voltage, only activate the fogs).
I've installed it on mine (cost €199), and you get the stock look as the parking light is not turned on, only the LEDs

I am interested too for a 2011 GL350. I can turn on DRL's myself through the steering wheel menus.
I'll update if/when I find out more.

MBWorld Fanatic!
I did a 2010 and 2011 already to the LED, with programming and parts it was about $950. coding was a little crazy in the beginning, but I ended up borrowing a vehicle with the LED's in it from the factory and read out the coding from the front SAM, duplicated it to the other vehicles... works like factory, no fault codes either. obviously no fog lights as they were removed, but they were programmed out to not throw a fault code. bumper did not have to come off either... and the plug for the DRL was chopped off and I added the correct MB plug with pins to make it like factory

Converting 2011 GL Bluetec fog lamps to daytime LED
I just purchased a 2011 GL 350 Bluetec and was hugely disappointed that it did not come with the daytime LED. Please outlien the easiest (and most cost effective way) to make the conversion? I think your truck looks fantastic and I would love to do the same. Thank you for your help!

I have also swapped out my 20" runflats for 22" Munich wheels and Nitto tires... amongst various other changes which I can post later.

Convert 2011 GL Fog Lamps to Daytime LED Running Lights
I just purchased a 2011 GL 350 Bluetec and am hugely disappointed that it did not come with the daytime LED running lights. Can someone please guide me on how to make the conversion and approximately how much it will cost?
Much appreciated.

I posted a thread about it. Im doing it on my GL. A guy in canada was selling the LED's and one chrome piece for $215-shipped. So i bought it. And had to order another chrome piece, and 2black plastic surround pieces-$100(got a discount at the dealer). I will post pics on my thread tonight or tomorrow. Check it out!

Hey i just wanted to add this, you could use the front cigarette lighter power to run the Drl's as that circuit is key on power only and circuit has high enough amp draw rating. What I am gonna be doing is this, use the the power from that circuit to trigger a Bosch 30 amp relay that will power the Drl's, and this circuit will be out of the CanBus so no lamp/lighting errors. Along with the relay I also will add a fuse to the circuit rated at the draw of both Drl's + 5% or closest to anticipated draw and one on the power up of the relay, as so to protect the pesky MB electronics. I hope this insight helps anyone thinking of doing the retrofit in the future. "Just My 2 Cents" and Thanks for your time.

It looks like there is an aftermarket solution for this LED DRL retrofit from China. If anyone has tried these on your GL, please post your results.

Looking good. Was really thinking of buying one, but he has no pics of the LED installed. Now that I have seen yours, time to pull the trigger.
Got a question, did you connect the power using the battery under the seats or just used the jumpstart terminals under the hood?
