Won't shift from Park in the Snow?
I was in the mountains this past weekend, was in the snow. Parked the car; it got snowed on for about 24 hours (total about 6inches of snow on the car).
I started it; it told me that it wouldn't shift into park and to keep it in the gear it is in and drive to service center. Eventually, it told me to maintain it in the same gear it was in (park?) and drive it without shifting any gears...hmmm.
What I know:
- Car was parked in snow, it snowed.
- Car was in high position
- I had the traction ascending and descending on (was in the snowy hills)
- Car was in park, as I parked it in the driveway the day before
- Car wouldn't shift into any gear
- My wife warmed it up for about 15 minutes, then the error magically disappeared.
What the heck happened?
It's going back to the dealer tonight.

I'm not going to put an ongoing drama on this, but I thought the answer I received was funny from the dealer:
What error did it tell you? Geez I don't know that one.
It doesn't create any lack of faith in their abilities, and yes, I know they'll plug it in and see whatup with it; but it just goes to show I am good at finding the 1 in 1000.

That is definitely strange. I live in the mountains and my GL is in snow 3-4 months out of the year and I have never had that problem. Hope they figure it out for you, I know how frustrating it is to have a new car with problems.
