iphone cradle and ipod integration install?s
need some help....
I don't have ipod integration in the GL, just the RCA aux jack and want iphone/ipod functionality with COMAND. I just received the cradle and ipod cable from COMAND online, but recent reading had told me that I'm not done buying parts yet. I still need the ipod integration box (hopefully the prewired harness is in the dash that I'm told should be there, but I've heard stories of 07 (204s) that didn't have it). I'd like to (have the dealer) take the console apart once and trying to line up my choices before I go see them.
What other suggestions do y'all have? Also I'm thinking of passing on the amp as it seems to cause other distortion issues.

I bought the kit from the dealer (250.00) and had them install it (flat fee of 201.00).....
Having the dealer on the hook for any and all issues with it......priceless.
works perfectly too, and a free car wash to boot !

thanks-- I've heard that MB has become more reasonable with the integration kits so we'll just do it when the dash is apart for the phone upgrades.

You need two things.
1. The ipod integration kit.
2. The cable to divert above to console.
The "kit" assumes you'll put ipod in glovebox, so you need the additional part (cable) to divert the signal to the console and have the connector that joins with the cradle.
Mine works fine, althought the basic ipod integration kit functionality is not super user friendly in the first place, but having it come from the console doesn't change anything.
There's nothing "prewired and in the dash," as of course the radio is only about an inch from the glovebox in the first place. The only thing that could be called "prewired" is the existing aux jack, which normally is removed when the ipod integration kit is installed.
