GL550 Brakes/rotors/calipers on GL450 with 18" tires

Once i upgrade the brakes to GL550 Brakes/rotors/calipers will my 18" wheels fit without scraping inside?

Or in other words anyone tried fitting GL450 18" wheels on 550.

Is there a difference in the braking systems (i.e. rotor sizes, calipers, etc.) between the GL's? I would not think so but don't have access to the part numbers to look that up......

I recall comparing the 09 GL brake specs on the MBUSA website. The brakes were the same for all engine variations. However, I'm not sure how accurate the website is/was.

IF your owners manual also covers the GL550, check the snow tire recommendations. If it recommends 18-in wheel, you'll be good to go.

I ran a set of 18 inch wheels for a week while my wheels were being chromed and they cleared the brake calipers but if you are going to a big brake upgrade like Brembo you will need larger wheels.
