Keyless Go Button issues
My wife has an 09' GL 550 and out of the blue the Keyless Button will not start the car. The car will start with the key fob but button essentially is dead despite re-installing multiple times. Will call Dealer today but anyone have similar issues?

I've not heard of this particular problem but, if the car, for whatever reason, doesn't 'know' the key in your pocket is in the car then it isn't supposed to start. Normally, there is a transmit - receive communication between the key and transducers in each door and under the car. If, for any reason, that process doesn't take place, then the car isn't 'aware' the key is there.
When you physically put the 'real' key in the slot the other electronics steps are bypassed.
Good luck

My 2007 GL450 had a similar problem with the keyless-go. The fix was to:
1. Replace the car battery.
2. Perform short test on front "SAM" unit. Short persists.
a. Update software for SAM. Short persists.
b. Found corrosion on SAM connectors.
c. Replace SAM control unit and installed front SAM protective covering.
3.Vehicle operates as designed.
Covered under warranty.

Saturday morning I figured I'll try again so put the keyless go button back in the ignition and everything worked again.
We've been driving the car since then continuously without a problem. Must have been a little gremlin inside the computer boards. We'll see how this week goes!
