No hitch from MB on 2010 after sale??

I did some calling around and found out that MB has not released any info for the hitch for the 2010 other then the one you get at the factory. I can put this and the sam unit on myself but no part yet. Anyone have any other info on other units? I checked around and nothing yet that I can find

Retrofitting a trailer hitch to the GL350 will be difficult due to the Adblue tank in the back. I am afraid you are going to be surprised how much it will take to do it. One quote I got for an ML320 was $1800. I ended up buying a GL350 with the hitch from the factory already installed.

Yes Jimmy, it appears to be difficult/$$/impossible to add a hitch. That was one of the several reasons we ordered our GL350 from the factory.

BTW, the dealers don't have a clue about towing with these vehicles. Several folks from my dealer insisted that I didn't need a brake controller. And because it has the plug in the back, everything should work fine. They don't get it!

However, there is lots of great information on this site including some MB tech bulletins that are helpful.

I looked under a few trucks at the dealer and they all replace the bumper support and bolt on with new parts the ablue should not be a problem with the mercedes hitch, they just need to release it for sale. The sam unit should be plug and play. I know there will be no aftermarket ones around due to how it is connected.

Now just one GL450 with EORP.
The word I got from MBUSA was that the dealer has to pretty much disassemble the rear end in order to install the trailer hitch correctly. This is, unfortunately, not bolt-on.
