iPod 120 Gig Classic via RSE Aux
Anybody located and bought the iPod to Component cable that will work in the AUX input on the DVD player for the RSE. I have tried the Apple plugs don't work due to the casing, tried the Gigaware docking station didn't work, tried the headphone jack input to component and that didn't work. Please provide brand, link or store where i can purchase whatever has worked for others on this forum using the AUX DVD input on the RSE on a 08 GL and a 120gig classic ipod. thanks

The AUX RCA/Phono connectors on the GL rear seat DVD player do not protrude from its faceplate and as a result, the Apple RCA connectors do not fit. You need connectors that are thinner.
There are three ways to do this.
1. (cleanest method) Have the Apple Composite AV cable re-terminated such that the Apple RCA connectors are removed and new connectors (which fit) are added.
2. (messy) Find RCA Female to Male cables - attach the female end to the Apple cable and the Male end to the GL DVD player. unless you can find very short Female to Male RCA cables this solution results in a bunch of wire in your back seat.
3. Build an adapter
To make an adapter which works for connecting an iphone, ipod classic video and ipod touch to the Rear Seat Entertainment system in a GL you will need the following parts:
(1) Apple Composite A/V cable:

(3) Radio Shack Male RCA Couplers - these fit on the DVD player AUX RCA jacks.

(1) Radio Shack Triple Phono Plug Coupler (female)

Procedure:
Using a razor blade / knife, cut the black housing off of the "triple phono plug coupler"
such that only three separate metal couplers remain.
Use these female metal couplers to connect the (male) Apple Composite RCA (Yellow, Red, White) connections to the Male RCA Couplers and insert into the corresponding connections on the GL's RSE DVD player.
Hope this helps!
