DIY - Reset 09 BTC Maintanance Indicator

Didn't find a diy for 09 btc so I decided to try it out myself and had success, following the procedure,

1. turn the vehicle to position 1 (accessory position)
2. click on the menu page down/up buttons on the steering wheel until you see miles or temporture depending on your setting (pic #1)
3. quickly push the "R" (reset) button (on the cluster panel) 3 times, you should see the Service Menu (pic#2)
4. use +/- & page down buttons on the steering wheel and select Confirmation, use page down button to confirm
5. you should see "confirmed" message

wrong.

what you did is you told the truck you performed service 3.

any service "a", "b", "c", etc. contains multiple services (2,3,5,etc.) each depending on what is needed. it is possible that service "b" for example require service 2 and 3 and other additional services (5 for example).

so when you are told you need to do "service c" for example you need to go into the menu, see which services are required (2,3,etc.), perform the work and then "confirm all work" in the menu. the numeric services and what which one entails are in your user manual. a alphabetic service is a collection of numeric services.

"perform additional work" is just that- perform extra services that are not required by the service that is due. for example when you flush the tranny, but the comp is not asking for it- you mark that as "additional work" ... so the comp knows the tranny is flushed and will not ask you to do that in say 5k miles when it is due according to the mileage.

and you dont need to remove the start/stop button cover.

and... you get the picture. from this point on expect possible inconsistent requests by your onboard scheduler... you can try to "reset" everything by executing "confirm all work", but your mileage will vary depending on what state your comp is in.

Thanks for the correction! I updated the post. However I wasn't able to find the service 1,3,4,5... definitions in the user's manual or maintenance booklet.I guess I can just simply confirm all the items so the alert won't show again until next service is due.

After did further research, I think I know a little more about the service scheduler. You do NOT want to confirm all! Following the maintenance booklet and perform the required(and/or recommended) services, find corresponding service # in the list below, then ONLY CONFIRM the services you had done. In my case, since it's 1st service ever, I only had to confirm Service 3 (Oil and filter change), Adblue & inspections (last two are not listed). The reminder went away!

BTW, can somebody confirm what Service 1 is?

Service number list,

Service 3 At each service -Engine oil and filter change Engine

Service 4 Every 2 years –
Check body for paint damage Underside of vehicle
Check chassis parts and supporting body partsfor damage and corrosion
Engine compartment Replace brake fluid

Service 5 every 40 000 km/2 years
Engine compartment -Replace combination filter

Service 6 every 40 000 km/2 years
Engine compartment -Replace dust filter

Service 8 every 80 000 km/4 years
Engine compartment -Replace air-cleaner insert

Service 8 every 120 000 km/4 years
Engine compartment - Replace air-cleaner insert

Service 11 every 80 000 km/4 years
Engine compartment -Replace fuel filter

Service 11 every 250 000 km/15 years
Underside of vehicle -Replace fuel filter

Service 12 Every 50 000 - 70 000 km/4 years
Engine compartment -Replace spark plugs

Service 12 Every 90 000 - 110 000 km/4 years
Engine compartment - Replace spark plugs

Service 13 every 250 000 km/15 years
Engine compartment -Replace coolant.
Pay attention to coolant composition

Service 15 Every 30 000 km/2 years
Vehicle front, vehicle rear
Grease trailer coupling with removable ball hitch
and automatic lock mechanism, then check
operation
Clean trailer hitch with detachable ball neck and
automatic locking after testing
(if necessary)

Service 16 Once during first service 2
Wheels, brakes
- Parking brake - adjust cable slack AP42.20-P-4262AK
-
Service 20 every 60 000 km
Underside of vehicle -Fluid change, automatic transmission
