what you did is you told the truck you performed service 3.
any service "a", "b", "c", etc. contains multiple services (2,3,5,etc.) each depending on what is needed. it is possible that service "b" for example require service 2 and 3 and other additional services (5 for example).
so when you are told you need to do "service c" for example you need to go into the menu, see which services are required (2,3,etc.), perform the work and then "confirm all work" in the menu. the numeric services and what which one entails are in your user manual. a alphabetic service is a collection of numeric services.
"perform additional work" is just that- perform extra services that are not required by the service that is due. for example when you flush the tranny, but the comp is not asking for it- you mark that as "additional work" ... so the comp knows the tranny is flushed and will not ask you to do that in say 5k miles when it is due according to the mileage.
and you dont need to remove the start/stop button cover.
and... you get the picture. from this point on expect possible inconsistent requests by your onboard scheduler... you can try to "reset" everything by executing "confirm all work", but your mileage will vary depending on what state your comp is in.
