GL 320 CDI- 18" Rubber Options...

Time for new rubber on my 2008 GL 320 CDI.
I'm running the 18" OEM's.

I didn't have a problem with the set that they came with, but am wondering what other GL owners who are running the 18" OEM rims are doing for rubber.

Thanks in Advance.

Look on ebay for all sorts of different brands.

I think this size is used on Dodge pick ups.

No--look at http://www.tirerack.com and search for "original equipment tires."

As owners manual states, "MO" should be molded on sidewall.

Best there is is Michelin Latitude Tour HP.

 Rims and tires
!Only use tires which have been tested and approved by Mercedes-Benz. Tires approved by Mercedes-Benz are developed to provide best possible performance in conjunction with the driving safety systems on your vehicle such as ABS or ESP®. Tires specially developed for your vehicle and tested and approved by
Mercedes-Benz can be identified by finding the following on the tire’s sidewall:
MO = Mercedes-Benz Original equipment tires

Using tires other than those approved by Mercedes-Benz may result in damage that is not covered by the Mercedes-Benz Limited Warranty.

!Using tires other than those approved by Mercedes-Benz can have detrimental effects, such as
 poor handling characteristics
 increased noise
 increased fuel consumption
Moreover, tires and rims not approved by Mercedes-Benz may, under load, exhibit dimensional variations and different tire deformation characteristics that could cause them to come into contact with the vehicle body or axle parts.
Damage to the tires or the vehicle may be the result.

'Ditto' what Kent listed. Use Tire Rack for your tire info and possibly buying needs. I purchased a set of MB approved 18" wheels and put Blizzacks on for winter last season from them...AWESOME! Then for the rest of the year I put the 19" MB wheels back on with Dunlap summer tires...great combo! But any way you go - nothing is going to last too long on these trucks...

I just had to replace a rear tire. (Picked up a 2oz wheel weight through the tread that made too big a hole to patch.) I have been running OEM style Michelin Latitudes for 30k miles. I was lucky that the tire shop I stopped at to fix the tire had 3 Michelin cross-terrain used tires from a previous vehicle. They put one on for $40 including mount and balance. The 'new' tire has double the tread of the Latitudes and has a more aggressive tread but I cannot tell ANY difference in noise or handling under any freeway condition. For what its worth.
