Dealer Service B
#2
MBWorld Fanatic!
Also, the second row seat continued to squeak whenever I folded it even though the service advisor said he fixed it. Also, the dealer never replaced my fuel filter even though it was part of the service I paid for. What do I do? Should i tell the dealer to relubricate it again and upgrade telematics? They are being really stubborn about it!
Get with the service manager via email and voice your complaint. If you're being brushed off, demand your money back and refer the matter and email transcripts to MB USA. Find yourself another service department.
The squeaky back seats are a known issue and fixed by applying felt pads to where the seats rub to the mounting points. The pads may slide around after a while and the squeak reappears.
The fuel filter, on the other hand is rather important to have changed at regular intervals. 20k is what MB recommends although yours may not be need replaced yet, it is cheaper than paying for a tow and the associated inconvencience when the engine shuts down in the middle of nowhere due to a clogged fuel filter.

ah yes. i need to read his post more carefully.
service b varies depending on what the computer requests. you can find what needs to be done by going into the engineering menu and looking at the "services" that are checked (and required) like service 1, service 3, service 7, etc.. . then you look in your book to see what each service consists of.
edit: i just checked a few things- on most occasions v6 diesel gl trucks do not require the "fuel filter" service in service "b", rather than that it is rolled into service "c" but it varies from truck to truck.
.. so... not doing fuel filter during service b might be by design "as requested" by the truck.
