Extended Warranty
I am buying(purchasing) a 2011 gl450. We are high mileage(current lease at 30 months and 50000). I want to keep the new gl at least 4 years if not longer. Any thoughts about the MB extended warranty? Also how much does it cost?

I recently looked into the extended warranty through MB and it was $4500. But mine is an '09 with 32K on it, so it might be less if you purchase the warranty when the car is brand new and not 2 1/2 years old.

I got the 2 year extension to 100k miles for $2300. They were originally asking $3700, so don't be afraid to negotiate. I wouldn't have purchased mine without the extended warranty. If my current rate of problems continues, I'll be getting my money back quickly once it kicks in.

IMO I will wait until you are close to expiring your factory warranty, or at least you have driven between 30-40k miles. This will give you longer coverage time and price will not differ from when you buy when the car is new.

Purchased MB 25k 2 yrs last Dec. for $3300. August left front air spring $1800, yesterday, left rear air spring $2000. Won't ever buy a MB without it.

I would say go for it. I have the 100,000 I don't recall what it cost. I do know that it is worth it because your struts will need to be replaced, that alone will be worth it.
To crazy Gordon, I'm not sure but I believe struts or shocks are meant to be replaced every 50 or 60k. But I would not consider that a problem.noisy normal wear and tear.
