Cap for Crossbar

It is a wonder that more people don't lose those. As was discussed in an earlier thread, I ordered and returned several sets of crossbars because the clips that hold the caps on were broken on every set. The parts department ended up giving me a price break and I went to a hardware store and got black plastic screw head caps to cover the bolts I used to secure the caps. If you are still under warranty you could make a case that the caps are defective. Mercedes knows they are. It became a joke at the parts department where my GL is serviced.

Unless something has changed at Thule, they won't have them either. The used set of crossbars I got off ebay were missing the covers for the "feet" for one of the cross bars. Thule said they are only available from MB, who of course doesn't sell them either. I bolted my remaining two on as the clips that are intended to hold them on aren't a good solution.
