Ash or Black interior for the GL

Does it have a black dashpad now? If it does, it is probably pretty nice. The older, all gray ones look kinda '90's. Remember, the lighter colours transfer a lot of bluejean dye.

I have Macadamia - the name they used in 2007. I have 82,000 miles on it. I did have some wear on the steering wheel where it turned black, but the dealer replaced it under warranty. The seats are starting to show a little rub marks, and Brocktoon is right in that darker dye blue jeans can stain it.

I went back and forth on ash versus black. We even considered ash/black two-tone which will give you the black dash and headliner. At the end, we went with black. We're very happy with the interior color. Very classy and sporty. Plus, the contrasting stitching is a nice touch.
If your concerned about the higher temp with the black interior, order the IR glass and -3 zone AC. It's not summer yet but IR glass is amazing. Our BMW X5 with grey interior is hotter than our GL with black interior.

I had the ash in my '09. It is a gorgeous color with the dash and steering wheel being a slightly darker color. Jeans do transfer color very easily and the carpet and steering wheel start to show some staining after a while. Griots garage makes a wonderful interior cleaner that is clear that cleans most of that up. I wanted ash again in my '11 but they could only find me one with black. I am happy with the black now that I have it as I don't have to be constantly on the kids about stuff and I don't have to wipe down my seat every time I wear jeans
