Almost Spring in the NorthEast! - New shoes
I had purchased these 22" wheels from Jerry @ ForMyMercedes.com back in December. Waited till the snow was gone and finally got tires and mounted the wheels today. The wheels have gunmetal highlights and sorta look like the new GL550 wheels. They come in a 50mm offset which seems perfect for the car. Not a harsh ride either (came up from 20" wheels) with Yoko Parada tires. Jerry was great to deal with so I figured I'd give him a plug with some pics!

Awesome wheels , look great. Is there any body shaking at any speed ?
I had shaking problem with my replicas on X5. Would you mind to tell the price of this set ?
Thanks.

I think the wheels were like $1400 or so...tire $1000 and then whether or not you are swapping TPMS or buying new.
Shaking all depends on where you take the wheels to get balanced. I go to a guy in MA who is absolutely **** about getting it perfectly round and balanced. Almost every time I send a tire or 2 back to the tirerack because they are out of spec (from a round standpoint). Find a guy near you that has a hunter roadforce balancer and it will also check for the tire being out of round...most of the time the shaking is due to that and not the balancing.

That looks like the euro 64 on the formymercedes.com website. Is your wheel that wheel and is it a 9 1/2" width and 50mm offset? Did you go with the 285's or the 305's?

They are not the Euro 64 on his website. I do not believe they are listed on his website - but give him a call and I'm sure he'll know what you are talking about. I went with 285's on a 10" rim. To me 305 is overkill (and heavier!) and not needed...

I spoke to Jerry yesterday. I am debating between the gunmetal II wheels that you have and the ligher gunmetal I wheels that he has incoming (attached pic). I have a silver GL and not sure how the darker gunmetal II wheels would look on it. They look pretty dark in your pics. The new ML63 OEM wheels are a darker color, similar to yours.

But i guess if i have to i will do it as it looks really good on there. I dont really care that the holes are there the spioler covers that im just afraid that once i drill and expose the bare metal rust will start to develop in the spots slowly...

Hi your GL looks awesome with the new shoes. Where in MA did you have your wheels balanced? I'm looking to upgrade to a 22's myself and would like get it balanced using your shop.
Thanks.

Rouxs Garage in Berlin MA. Paul Roux is the guy who does the work. Has both the hunter roadforce balancer and laser alignment equipment @ his place! He's a recommended installer from the tirerack
