First Road Trip...First Windshield Replacement!
Thud! Small impact on upper passenger side corner and a split started to grow quickly. So, our first replacement windshield.
Any recommendations? Should we go to the dealer to confirm the fit? Or trust any replacement shop to seal it correctly, line up everything, and give us an OE replacement? Any experiences pro/con are appreciated. I'll likely submit this to insurance, so not sure what their procedure is yet.

Apple Auto Glass ordered windshield from MB dealer brought to their shop and installed it.
Price was 650 Cad. Original MB windshield is a must I don't think that you can get after market for the GL.
Best of luck to you!
I watched the seal process to confirm there were no visable voids that would create air leaks. The tech seemed to know what he was doing and was very careful of the interior. Hope this one lasts!
I assume you saw the video of the gal driving down the road, chasing two trucks from one company and filming them because she thought they were racing? (Where the 2x4 comes flying through the windsheild?)Even in this crap economy, any car I routinely take on the freeway/interstate/highway/parkway/etc. gets full glass coverage from the insurance company.
Oh, as for the I/R glass, man I would've liked to have done that as well, but they know from your VIN you don't have it so you don't get the more expensive glass. My last replacement came with the signature sticker - did they say they had to add it on or did they just tell you it came with it?

They did have to add the sticker to the new glass. In the R Class forum (Velociraptor is on the line in AL) he noted a while back that the sticker is seperate now so I knew to ask for it.
