2011 GL350...

I just put the deposit down on my new 2011 GL350 Palladium silver, I'm trading in my 08 RangeRover Sport and not really that sad to see it go. I've had to tow it 2x on the flat deck and then limped it once into a dealership. All suspension issues, so when I ordered this one I chose not to go the AMG with the full ajustable suspension.

I want to thank all those who post as I have spent countless hours reading before I decided to jump into the Merc market. I'm salivating at the increased room and comforts that I have had to live without in my sport, yes the supercharger was cool but the kids hated no recline in the seats.

Has anyone had issues with the DVD system? There are not too many posts on it so is it safe to assume all's well? My only thought was a good bump as they got in and might jam it on the headrest.

I can't wait to get the power tailgate back as well, and I'm sure once I have it there will be more great gifts I've missed.

They said it should be in at the dealership in 3wks tops, it's been shipped!! I can't believe how scarce these vehicles are.

Welcome! You will love your GL! All GL's have adjustable suspension. Not all have "comfort" and "sport" mode, but they all raise and lower and self adjust on the freeway plus you can raise it for off road needs.

I have never had a problem with the DVD. If you got the DVD from factory, they DVD's do not go directly into the headrests, but into a unit built into the center console.

I too have the Palladium silver and absolutely LOVE it! You will have to post pics once you take delivery!!

I understand that u can put DVDs in the front for one screen and a single one in the console for the other. I'm excited about not having to stop and go to the rear hatch to change them out, it's all up front.
I know I'm going to be lovn a whole bunch of items that I had to do without in my sport. My husband chose the sport, I've chosen this one!
I didn't think I could get a starter put in but others have and had no issues, I feel like I've won the jackpot.
Do u ever get used the the Huge emblem on the front grill? I will miss the understatedness of my sport. I live in a small town and no one knew what I was driving, they r not gonna miss this one for sure.

I don't think u can get anymore complicated a suspension system like my sport. The last straw was when they changed out a sensor and said that it was more likely caused by mud. I thought, this is a RR ur supposed to drive it in mud (which I wasn't but that's not the point)

Leaving Thursday to pick up my Palladium Silver Gl350....bye bye Sport!!! I've got rear flaps, deep dish floor liners, the back of seat "crap" holders for the girls...is there anything else I need to get?? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for no mechanical issues, I need a break from my sport issues.

I'll likely get the MB warranty it covers towing to 160,000kms and I plan on keeping this awhile. My nearest dealership is in Edmonton (7hrs) and towing for things is a big deal. I'm so excited!!!

My only feeling is that I wish the Merc emblem on the front grille wasn't so big, although my sport said range rover on the front hood, most people didn't see it a mile away and didn't really know what it was anyway. Not with this one, I like to fly under the radar...not going to happen now. Oh well, too excited about all the bells/whistles I've missed for so long!!!!

Congrats, you will love it, I to chose palladium for my wife but opted for the AMG package which I admire everytime I look at it, the rear DVD is great, so far so good, I dont like to use it much as my 1 1/2 yr old and 3 1/2 year old already started hollering when it is not in use, so I am breaking the habit right away, in fact, I used an old AV cable that is spliced and have it hanging out the DVD screen as if it is broken, so that setteld them down. Then some days it mysteriously is fixed and working.....works like a charm. I wouldnt worry about the huge star symbol, there are Mercedes symbols everywhere on this thing, wheels, rear hatch so its not as stealth as you think, I am sure people have an idea you can afford this vehicle, so enjoy and hopefully we dont have any service issues with it.

I just picked up my GL...I am totally overwhelmed by the command system, I know how to dial a call after he hooked up my bluetooth and then everything goes blank. Please someone tell me..does it get easier?? I wasn't sorry to see my sport go at all, in fact my daughters said last night that they weren't going to miss that truck. I bought the tire protection 5yrs for the price of 3, last year I had to buy a new tire at 350.00 so if that happens again it will be worth it, not to mention the rim protection.

I also bought the MB 3yr 160,kms warranty because it includes towing for that entire time. I am about a 1000.00 tow bill away from a dealership so it's worth it, and I have to say the price for the warranty is very reasonable. I do intend to keep this truck for the duration.

We pay 6/gal for premium so going to the diesel will be an added benefit. I didn't get the cargo mat because they only have a lite version that fits the ML so it leaves an 8" void at the back. Does anyone know of a good after market rear cargo mat that covers the entire floor space yet is still somewhat flexible in case you need to roll it to use the 3rd row.

I'm getting it plastic wrapped right now, I love that stuff it really saves from the rock chips. I'm going to get a compustar remote starter and maybe a drone mobile when they use a different celluar carrier.

I can't say enough about how much I love the color!!!

What brand of wrap are you putting on? I am thinking of getting the 3M invisible bra for my truck.

Any idea on how much I should pay for this? I am in SouthEast US.

I've had both this is the Durashield which used to be ventureshield. I'm paying 850 for a full wrap which is a bit more than what our dodge trucks cost. To me its a mandatory item and not a real diy job. To me both products were close do either one.

Thanks, my installer is quoting $750 (film + install) for the following: Bumper, hood, fender, headlamp, foglamp. I am getting the XPEL film.
I am guessing this is a good price? TIA

I am in Sarasota, FL. I just used the 'dealer locator' at xpel.com (bottom right corner) and decided to go with the dealer who had the highest volume of applications in the area.
