Service Rep won't print out previous service records.

Service Rep won't print out previous service records.
Took the GL in for some warranty work and asked the service rep if he would print out the previous service records for me as I do not have any service records. He told me he could not as it was a privacy issue. Is this true or is he just to lazy to print them out for me???

If the dealer were to just print the records that would undoubtedly include the name (and maybe more) of the previous owner. Technically that would require someone (you?) to get that person's permission before you could get the records. Businesses are generally shy about giving out names of their customers to others - even if you have a legitimate reason.
I know I wouldn't want to be bothered by all the subsequent owners of cars I have previously owned.
Of course, the dealer COULD redact the names, etc, but that would be a big PITA.

The document you want is the VMI. It tells you everything that has been done to the vehicle at any MB dealer. No prior owner info in it, only vehicle info. If they won't give you that, tell them to go pack sand.

I had the same issue when I bought my X5....the rep just said the car have not had any major problems before and refused to print it out.
I got the record 3 months later from SA I used to tip for couple warranty issues.
