rear electric tailgate wont close
My rear electric tailgate wont close. I've hit the close button like 25 times it goes all the way to close, sounds like it tries to lock, and then opens back up. I cant get it to close unless I want to manually push it shut which doesnt sound like a good idea.
There are no mats or anything in the way.
Ideas?
EDIT: I finally got it to close. I went out there 10 mins later and hit close and it closed the 1st time. Luckily I was at home and not in a parking lot or on a trip.

So, if this thing happens during a trip, what is the solution?
Is it possible to just slam it shut and continue the journey till the next dealership?
TIA

Any time you have problems with the tailgate you can close it manully by just forcing it.. It wont hurt anything the resistance you feel is just the hydrolic fluid/presure your over coming.

If I have my 26" suitcases stacked vertically behind the 3rd row, sometimes if they are leaning a little rearward the door won't shut. All I have to do is gently press the chrome strip above the license plate just before it latches and the door will shut every time.
