The MB-tex is called ARTICO leather in the rest of world, fyi. It's my choice, that's for sure. I will say that the GL with leather does smell great, though!

Totally agree. I've had plenty of Mercedes with leather interiors and they all start looking bad after years of wear. The MBtex seats look good for the life of the car. I was a big fan after comparing a 20 year old MbTex interior vs a 20 year old leather interior. MBtex wins hands down in appearance and durability. Leather wins in feel and smell.

My MBtex has held up very well over 50K miles. With 3 kids and a dog, it's a no brainer. The stuff cleans up easily and is plenty comfortable. Just hope that when I upgrade at some point I can get ventilated seats with it. Currently you have to get the leather for that option....I don't get that at all???
Good luck!

Agree, I also debated the question. But after seeing both side by side, it's actually hard to tell the difference. Plus, with 3 kids, MBtex is super durable. My 6 year old climbs over the second row to get to the 3rd row everyday.
It would be nice if ambient lighting was a standalone option. Currently, it's bundled together with leather pkg.

Guess? I'm guessing it is very durable all the way around, punctured or not. Anyone out there with some MBTex material that can tell us if it is weak when punctured?
